The mother of a 15-year-old girl who was reportedly raped in the parish recently, has been arrested and charged by the St James police.
The mother is facing a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The rape case involves 39-year-old Jason Rose, a pastor at an Apostolic Church in the parish, who was earlier this week formally charged by the police.
The allegations against the child’s mother are that the ‘victim’and her mother visited the St James offices of the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse (CISOCA) on June 10, with the stated intention of the child giving a further statement to the police to say that her initial accusation of rape was untrue.
